How to interpret CATIA V6 Release of V6 data?

How to interpret CATIA V6 Release of V6 data?

Hello,

As I understand that it's possible to get the CATIA info from a CAD data by opening it in a text editor and search for "LastSaveVersion". It works perfectly well for V5 but when it comes to CATIA V6, I got the release "418" which confused me with a V6 data.

The information I got was like this:"LastSaveVersion   €   <Version>6/<Version><Release>418/<Release><ServicePack>13/<ServicePack><BuildDate>03-14-2017.20.00/<BuildDate><HotFix>0/<HotFix>".

Does anybody know the reason or how can I interpret it? I appreciate any suggestions.

Regards, Kai

Could it be the 418 corresponds with the B418 folder in Dassault Systemes install folder?  For me its in my C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B419 Indicating 2017x

I am pretty sure 418 would correspond to 2016x. If you want the "decoder ring" for v6 (starting with 2015x) versioning would start with a 4 then the last two digits of the release year plus 2 i.e 418 = 2016x, 419 =2017x, 420 = 2018x, etc.

Hi Kevin, Patrick,

Thank you so much for the kind answers. The release number refers to the Bxx folder just like it does for V5 makes a lot of sense to me, since I don't have V6 installed on my workstation.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Best regards, Kai
