Hi Mike & Larry - I agree with you both that LCR is not the
cleanest utility in the world. I can offer some work arounds for
you that I have had pretty good results with. To speed up the
processing time, set your machining tolerance up to .1 metric. If
you are roughing, there is no need to keep this tolerance too
tight. I avoid all planar approach arguments entirely. I use all
axial approach, retract, & linking macros to avoid the collisions
you mention. By using positive or negative offsets on the
relimiting face boundary, you can usually control where the cutter
will travel. Switching from tip mode to contact mode will also
create a different scenario. Hope this will help you through some
of your problems.
