Anyone use CATIA V5 in shipbuilding

Our company uses CATIA V5 in shipbuilding. I want to know whether there are any other company using it in shipbuilding so that we can communicate with.

Hello we do have some resources in Catia V5 Shipbuilding Solution and we can use Piping Design, Plant & Instrumentation Diagram, HVAC, & EQT, FDN etc.

Hi, Gary. 

We have a serious issues with Structure Detail Object Design workbench which is our main workbench for hull constructions. Tons of errors while creating beams, openings and so on. 

Moreover, when it comes to drawing generation, results are totally unpredictable. Some edges and plates simply disappear, others show even when they are not supposed to. We tried both generating with generative styles and without them.

As far as we know, DS doesn't plan any enhancements in SDD and drafting for V5. And we have a project to work on for he next 3 years...

I have done most of my structures work with SR1, but I know someone with considerable experience with SDD and I have sent him an email.  Hopefully, he can answer your questions. Gary
