As complexity and time to field Software increases, the need for integrating Systems and Software Engineering is critical. Tangram Flex has adopted concepts from Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and applied them to Software Integration. We developed a software component-based integration tool called Tangram Pro™ to automate software integration aspects like messaging, transport layer definition, and data serialization. To bridge the gap between Systems Engineering and Software Integration, Tangram Flex has developed a Profile and Plugin connecting Cameo Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Tangram Pro™. The profile extends SysML, creating custom entities and stereotypes that match data objects in Tangram Pro™. A Cameo EA plugin developed by Tangram Flex sends the data to Tangram Pro™ and renders a software integration model. By integrating Cameo EA and Tangram Pro™, we have established an Authoritative Source of Truth from a requirements-centric System Architecture to a Software Integration model. This establishes a Digital Thread from requirements in the Systems Engineering domain into a software Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline; in other words, Requirements to Code. Complex integration efforts are shrunk from weeks and months, down to hours without mistakes. This technical solution bridges the gap between Systems Engineering and Software Engineering with assurance.
